Giving Back: Our Commitment to Families & Community

At Destination Baby Co., community is at the heart of what we do. We believe every child deserves a safe, loving start and every family deserves support when they need it most. That’s why we proudly partner with two incredible local organizations year-round: Birthline of San Diego and Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego.

Through donations, in-kind support, and hands-on involvement, we’re doing our part to make sure families facing hardship feel seen, supported, and surrounded by care.

Supporting Mothers & Families with Birthline of San Diego

Birthline of San Diego provides support to pregnant women and families with young children across our community. Their mission: to meet urgent needs while offering dignity, stability, and hope during times of crisis.

Here’s how we support Birthline:

Ongoing Supply Donations

Many of our clients leave behind unopened diapers, wipes, and gently used baby items. We collect and donate these essentials year-round to Birthline, where they go directly to families in need.

Play Area Sponsorship for Events

We donate and set up a toddler play space at two of Birthline’s most heartwarming events: Love Another Mother & Holidazzle. Our playpen and toddler gear rentals create a fun, safe space so parents can enjoy the festivities while kids play nearby.

Annual Holiday Drive Hosts

Each holiday season, we host a community-wide donation drive for Birthline, collecting toys, warm clothing, and baby essentials to spread cheer to local families.

Keeping Families Together with Ronald McDonald House

Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego provides a “home-away-from-home” for families with seriously ill or injured children receiving treatment at local hospitals. When a child is hospitalized, the last thing their family should worry about is where they’ll sleep or find a warm meal. Ronald McDonald House takes care of the basics so families can focus on what matters most—being there for their child.

Here’s how we support RMHCSD:

Red Shoe Day Fundraising

We proudly participate in Red Shoe Day, San Diego’s biggest fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House. Our team joins hundreds of volunteers each year to raise funds and awareness so this vital resource can continue to serve families in crisis.

Holiday Drive 2024

In December, we partnered with our community to bring comfort and joy to families staying at RMHCSD during the holidays. Together, we collected and delivered: 1,091 new and gently used toys, 770 diapers, and more than 8 full bins of books, essentials, and comfort items.

Emergency Response Giving

In times of crisis, we believe in stepping up with compassion, flexibility, and tangible support. While our primary focus is on ongoing local partnerships, we also respond when emergencies impact the families and communities around us. Here’s how we’ve provided emergency support recently:

  • Southern California Wildfires (2025): When families were displaced by the wildfires in Los Angeles, we offered 50% off rentals to those evacuating to San Diego.

  • San Diego Plane Crash (2025): Following the tragic plane crash that impacted military families, we partnered with Zero8Hundred to support those in need. Our team donated essential baby items including a stroller, pack and play, diapers, wipes, small toys, and baby bath items.
